The Dog Blog: Oct. 1: Say hello to Sophie and Kirby!

We have two new puppies at daycare today. First of all, say hello to Kirby (black & white chihuahua, pictured above with his new chi sister, Paris (sticking out her tongue at him), and with Mika (B&W chi in the background).

We have started a chihuahua room for all the littl'uns, including Kirby, Paris, Mika, Lexy, Dawson and Chico. They're playing with the toys and chasing each other through the blue tunnel right now. So cute.

Little Kirby was a little shy of us humans at first but is warming up quickly. He's a sweet little thing, and he loooooves his new furry friends.

The second new puppy is Sophie (Yorkie, pictured below). She's been doing great on her first day, running around and making lots of friends - especially with Dawson, Max (another tiny Yorkie) and Chico.

The three of them have been pouncing, wrestling and playing chase this morning. Sophie was a little unsure about what was going on when her family left, but quickly jumped into the swing of things and is now having a blast!

In the big room, Rico (pug-cross), Scooby (American cocker spaniel), Maggie (Cairns Terrier, pictured left), Henna (Boston Terrier) and Nikko (miniature poodle) have been chasing each other around and playing tug of war with the rope toy.

The morning walks have been done, and yes, they were a little soggy...

Some dogs don't seem to notice the wet at all - like Enid (Jack Russell) - and others just plant their little legs down and look at you with a "Please, do I have to?" face.

* Buttons' internal clock must be off today because she's been excited about lunch time twice already this morning... No, not yet, Buttons! She must be hungry. :-)

* Sheraz (miniature shnauzer) looks very cute after her groom yesterday, but got pretty wet on her walk. She's all dried off now and is very curious in Sophie, the new dog, and Pepe.
