Sept. 23: Sunny day, happy dogs

It's a gorgeous, sunny day - awesome weather for dog walking! The sun is spilling through the big front windows here at the daycare, creating a nice light for taking photos. As you know, Wednesdays tend to be our busiest days. We've got a great pack in here today (26 in daycare as of 11 a.m.), and the Spaw is busy in the back. So that means more pix and less blabbing on below... more time for dog walking and playing with the pups! First of all, we'd like to say welcome back to Tuka (American Eskimo), Bobo (maltipoo) and Maggie (Cairns Terrier), who've all been away for a couple of weeks. A big congrats to Bobo's parents, who just got married in Alaska. Incredible photos... :-) I love the photo of Tuka above, on his back. And check out the pic of Maggie below, yawning. Take a look at those sparkling white gnashers! Also, hello again to Mister (miniature dachshound-cross, pictured right), who's back for his second day at daycare - and having a blast! She looooves him. * Umber has been playing lots with Jones, and getting chased around by Paris. * Molly had lots of energy this morning and has been bombing around with Mika. * Sasha just arrived and has made a new friend: Paris. Sasha's also been playing with Umber, and was a very good girl getting her nails trimmed. * Pictured right: Close-up of Buttons. * Heidi, Spike, LG, Jasper, Casper, Jude and Molly are chasing each other around on the ramps right now. * Chili's a fairly new dog and has been gaining his confidence each time. Sept. 11: Top of the class

How's this for an adorable class photo? Love this shot above of Maltese puppies Sprokette, Muggles & Rupert. Zipper (also a Maltese pup), Charlie (maltipoo) and Coco (shih-apso with the coolest haircut) have been having a blast with these little guys, too. * Rupert has also been playing with Dawson (chi). His sister, Talula, is getting more confident each visit and has been going around sniffing other dogs and saying hello. Good girl. :-) Okay, so what else has been going on today? Well, it's 12:30 as I start typing this and the morning walks have been done. What an awesome, sunny day for taking the dogs out! Pat is feeding lunches, and the pups are still all running around. * Little Charlie is back after a summer hanging with mom and dad, and we're super happy to see him! He's a squirmy, happy pup, frolicking around with his friends. Right now, he's playing with Pebbles (black maltipoo - she just arrived), and was just trying to play with Chili (chi-cross). * Pictured right: Sheraz chilling out with Chili. * Guess who's also been playing with Chili? Rico! (pug cross). Rico's also been playing tug of war with Gus (Am'n cocker spaniel) and Muggles. * Check out this photo of Gus and Dawson together. Dawson just loooooves him. She follows him around and loves snuggling up to him (like her big brother). She also loves Sebastian (miniature poodle) and gave him lots of kisses earlier. * Frankie (Boston Terrier) has been chasing the littl'uns, Muggles and Dawson, around. * Chopper (chi-pom) paid us a visit this morning. Darn, I missed it. Nigel tells me he was really excited to come in and visit everyone. * Snoopy's here today! We call him "Hef," short for Hugh Hefner, because he's an old guy but the ladies love him, and always follow him around and lather him with kisses. The boys love him too, as you can tell in this photo with Muggles. * And then we have our Very Good Girl club: Buttons (cockapoo), Sheraz (miniature shnauzer) and Mico (shih tzu). * What else is going on? Linus (miniature dachshund) is chilling out right now, Spike and LG have been playing with Muggles and chasing after the ball, and Cookie & Donut (pomeranians) have been wrestling with each other and hanging out with the pack. * Pictured left: Donut, Coco and Talula getting cozy on the camping chair. Sept. 2: Introducing Max, Sprokette & Snuggles

Happy Wednesday, everyone! We have two new dogs here today: Max (Yorkie, pictured below) and Sprokette (Maltese puppy - pictured above). Also, there are a couple of fairly new faces: Niko (poodle) and Snuggles (shih tzu cross).

It's a busy day (as you can tell by Nigel's awesome group photo below!), so I'm going to load up the blog with pix instead of words to save time. Pix are more fun than me babbling on, right?

It's been playtime all morning, and we still have more afternoon walks and potty breaks to come!

The morning walks are done, lunches are being fed, and the fur's-a-flyin' in the back room (in the Spaw).

Aug. 17: Introducing Dempster

Say hello to the new doggie - Dempster! He's an adorable American cocker spaniel puppy and has just been having a blast with all of his new friends this morning. Very playful.

He's really hard to take a photo of because he runs around so quickly (as of 12:30 he's still going!).

He especially likes Tofu (Boston-Bulldog), Bechler (Boston) and Danger (maltipoo).

* Tofu (pictured left) hasn't been here for a while, so he's catching up on lost time, zooming around with his buddies. He's grown since we saw him last!

* We also haven't seen Tui and Alley for a while - welcome back! They're a little tag-team, following each other around everywhere and playing with the toys. They've also been playing a little with Umber (chi).

* Oh, and it's good to see Marcello back again, too. He's been catching up with all of his buddies.

* Bechler, Heidi (shnoodle), Molly (Min Pin-cross), Spike (Yorkie), LG (Yorkie-cross), Jasper & Casper (both Coton de Tulear) have been chasing each other around - surprise, surprise.

* Just check out this photo to the left of Dawson (chi). She's been playing lots with our chihuahua Mika, plus Molly and Umber.

* Little Frank (Yorkie) is getting much more confident here, but he just has a timid personality. He's a lot like Max (Yorkie - pictured below left with the ball). Same size, a little shy, but once they find a little buddy, they love to play. Both these pups are here right now so I'm hoping they'll become good friends.

* Theodore (Yorkie) is also here, but in comparison he's very fiesty - he doesn't realize his size! We just saw him take on Bechler the Boston Terrier because he got in his way (not fighting, but barking at him to buzz off).

* Now for the more laidback dogs, who've been hanging with the pack and keeping involved, but not actively playing. This includes Sheraz (miniature schnauzer), who's always such a good girl. She gets along great with all the dogs and humans and loves her walks.

* And then there's Buttons (cockapoo), who's adored by many of the dogs here - and humans! - and she looooves her food. * We can't forget Mika (maltese), who's getting braver by going up to other dogs and sniffing and following them around. Her best friends here today are Tui and Alley and Danger.

July 30: Cooling off in the pool

It's just a dog bowl, but for little Dawson (chi), it's almost big enough to take a bath in! Here she is, dipping her paws.

Thank goodness we bought a 2nd air conditioning unit recently - we've got the two of them cranking. Yesterday was the hottest day in Vancouver's history, but it was pleasantly cool in here.

We've been starting the morning walks really early because of the heat, and the afternoon walks are more like quick potty breaks. It's just too hard on the littl'uns to be outside right now.

They've been chasing each other around all morning, and right now Pat is feeding lunches. Scroll down to see what your dog has been up to so far (note there are two Ozzy's, two Maximus's and two Spike's here).

* All the dogs would like to say a big THANK YOU to Buttons and her lovely family for bringing them some new (organic) squeaky toys to play with. Oh boy, they're a hit! Buttons didn't want to walk far this morning (too warm). She's been chilling out with Maximus (black terrier), Mico (shih tzu) and Snoopy.

* Right now, Dawson is playing with Ozzy (Min Pin), Henrik (chi), and Muggles and Zipper (Maltese). They're in the small room, hanging out with Emma (miniature dachshund). Emma really likes Henrik - they were doing a little play-chase game. Our two dogs, Mika and Lexy, are also in there.

* In the big room, Jones (Bischon), Danger (Maltese), Ozzy (Yorkie-poodle - pictured right) are going at it. Wrestle mania. Sasha (Papillon) just arrived and is chasing Ozzy around. Game on!

* Now we'd like to introduce four new faces to the pack. Pictured above from left to right are: Pozi (Maltese), Juno (chi), Donut (Pomeranian) and Cookie (Pom). They're all doing great and making lots of new friends. Pozi (pictured right) is 1 1/2 years old and this is his first day so he's doing brilliantly so far, playing with Leroy (Cairns Terrier-mix) and getting along great with everyone.

* Little Juno reminds us so much of our Lexy (chi-silky cross). She especially likes Henrik (chi). Henrik's also been chasing Maximus (Yorkie) around and loooooves Dawson and Danger.

* Cookie and Donut (pictured left) have been here for grooming before, and have mingled with some of the dogs before after getting their hair done in the Spaw. On their first day they were a little nervous, but they sure are doing better today!

* Scooby (American cocker spaniel) has been chasing after the ball and playing with Maximus (Yorkie - pictured right with Henrik). Spike (Yorkie) and LG (Yorkie-cross) have also been zipping after the ball, and also chasing Jones and Ozzy. LG entertained us again today by chasing his tail.

July 28: Hot doggie day

It's a scorcher out there today. We've got the air con on full blast in here and it's sooooo nice. Morning walks are done and Pat is feeding lunches right now.

* I love this photo to the left of Molly (Min Pin cross) & Ozzy (Min Pin) at playwar... just look at those jaws going at it! We have another cute pic of them playing with Dawson (chi). Dawson's also been playing with Winston (beagle-cross), and Ozzy's been chasing Casper (Coton de Tulear) around.

* Leroy's got a new buddy - Doogie the Jack Russell Terrier. Together with Winston and Rico (pug-cross), the furry foursome have been playing and chasing up a storm!

* And then we have the pack of little white dogs: Jasper (Coton de Tulear) has been playing with Tofu (Bichon Frise - pictured right) and Danger (Maltese) and Jones (Bichon), plus his brother, Casper.

* Danger and Jones are little wrestle-buddies, never far from each other's side. Bobo (maltipoo) has been in there too, but he's also been chasing the bigger kids - Winston and Doogie. Tofu's been really friendly with everyone and especially likes Ozzy and Muggles.

* Diamond (Papillon) and Spike (Shih tzu) are hanging with Buttons (cockapoo). They're lounge buddies. Pepe (Havanese) is having a pretty chilled day, too. He's just been hanging with the pack and doing a bit of running around. He tends to spring into break-dancing life in the afternoon.

* Then we have the tiny pack, coming in size XS to S. These guys are adorable. There's Muggles and his sister Zipper (both toy Maltese) and little Dawson (chi). The three of them are pictured left, sitting on a chair. They're also buddies with Max and Bently (both Yorkies).

* Bently loves wrestling with Muggles, and Max has also been playing with Jones. Also in their pack: little Theodore (another teacup Yorkie), who likes to play chase with both the little and "big" kids. Tonka has also been playing lots with Jones, doing his typical head-butting play game. He's also been chasing Winston and Doogie.

* Pictured left: Molly and Ozzy grapple for the orange rubber toy, while Dawson looks on.

* Pictured above right: Doogie sitting pretty. He was very happy to come through the doors and has been having a blast with Winston, Leroy, Muggles and Zipper.

* What else is going on? At the moment, Scooby (American cocker spaniel) is playing tug of war with LG (Yorkie-cross). LG and his brother Spike (Yorkie) have been in doggie heaven, wrestling Winston and chasing Jasper and Casper.
