Did You Get the Memo?

Just in case you didn't, here it is: *clears throat* People of Vancouver, Please be advised that we are, apparently, skipping over summer. We're just going to go straight to winter, as requested by your ginger/fair-skinned populace and skiing fanatics. Sincerely, Mother Nature.

I am not happy about this rain. I know, I know: you say that flowers need water and so forth, and that lakes need refilling, but I NEED A TAN.

That's not a self-absorbed comment at all, is it? :P

Anyhoo, rest assured your puppies were well-entertained today, which spares you, dear dog guardians and avid dog blogees, from having to pull out funky-smelling raingear from storage and exercise Fido or Fifi in downpour. YES, it's a downpour.

Enjoy the pics. Excuse me while I get my snuggie and hot chocolate on.

Bechler's face is priceless. Really, you don't even need the glasses for comedic effect, but I thought I'd try it out. He was thoroughly unimpressed, so he was amply rewarded with treats. Also kisses. He didn't like the kisses - he'd scrunch up his face as if I was your Great Aunt Edna. Didn't stop me, mind.
****

This is Bechler's baby sister. Her ears, as you can see, are also priceless. Also, when she runs, it's not unlike a  leapfrog-bunny-skip. Which looks as exactly as it sounds: adorable.
****

You opened the dictionary, and you looked for the definition of "TERRIER", and lo and behold: this picture was there. Dearest Harriet.
****

I love the look of Cody's paws and fur after a good jaunt in the rain. His lovely coat becomes curlier and, dare I say it, cuter.
****

I don't know what Rocco's doing here, but it makes me giggle. Rocco, you silly.
****

So, Mother Nature, THIS IS WHY UMBER AND I DO NOT WANT IT TO RAIN ANYMORE.
Observe exhibit A:
****

Only dogs can pull off wrinkled noses. If I were to wrinkle mine, you'd think I was feeling nauseated, but Rico makes is quintessentially cute. <3
****

This is Zuzu's profile pic for the K9 dating site, Plenty of Dog Dish. Prrrretty snazzy.
****

Obligatory snap of dogs in raincoats. Hellishly cute. Obligatory shameless promotion: they're only $25 (the coats, not the dogs.)
****

Another obligatory snap of a dog in a raincoat. Because puppies in clothes equals FUN.
(Fun for us. Not so much for Hugo).
****

GROUP PHOOOOooOOTo:
Who rocks more than your dogs and us? No one. Maaaaybe Oprah and the Sedins.
Also, Liam Neeson (Dog Blogger #2 gets a little light-headed. Tall Irish men with a good brogue? YES, PLEASE).

Alright, my lovelies, have a splendid weekend.

O! The Things You Can Do!

Well, I would wish you all a good and glorious day, but truly, looking outside, it isn't. I will not - nay, I simply canNOT - lie to you, my faithful dog blog followers. The fact of the matter is... well, it's utterly ICKY outside. It's just ... BLEARGH. And because I can't control the weather (...yet! *sinister laugh*), I'll do as the puppies do, and find ways to stay content on such a miserly day. Would you like to see what the dogs did? Of course you would. Follow me, and see.

Well, the puppy-ish playing was out in full force today, and because cameras so rarely come with a "Frenzied Puppies Tearing About a Daycare" setting, all of my pictures of the action were just blurs. Fluffy blurs. Instead, please look to Pepper and see the after-effects of such playing.
****

Just so you know: if you're a stuffed purple dog toy, you may not want to hang around Kaia. She likes to eviscerate you and your kind. Jus' saying.
****

So you're normally a loveable lap-dog named Snuggles - well, the rain has a way of drawing out different personas (la pluie lave tout de suite; vous etes change a cause de la pluie). Observe Snuggles: the dignified model.
****

Pfffffft. Rain? It's no big deal for Winston; he's still maxin' and relaxin'.
****

While you can't really tell from the picture, the dogs are most assuredly walking atop of my legs. It's win-win, really. They got to do a little hike up Mt Dog Blogger #2, and I got a free shiatsu. WINNING.
****

You know what you might find when it rains? Your doppelganger. Mr B and Max are as puzzled as you and me. We're in the Twilight Zone, folks. (*eerie music plays*)
****

Rainy days are good for coming clean and telling your friend that always kisses you when she sees you that, well, you like your personal space. Fist bump, anyone?

Rainy days: Causing The Ears of Dogs to Disappear.
****

(Wait, we found 'em. False alarm, folks)
****

Rainy days means endless games of fetch indoors. And breaks in-between. Katie takes a breather.
****

With your newfound knowledge, go forth, my dears. Celebrate rainy days. Live large, be happy, wag your tails - particularly if it's been groomed with a little puppy pouf at the end (srsly. A-dor-a-ble)
****

Another thing to consider on a rainy day: How do the awesome people at Small Paws get almost thirty dogs to sit and pose for a picture? And no, magic is not the right answer.

We're baaaaaaaack....!

Restless devotees of our Dog Blog (and naturally, Dog Blogger #2, of course): we are, indeed, back. Wipe away your tears, pull back the curtains, and take a deep breath: we're here and better than ever. A lot has transpired since our last post: the sun returned (good); kids have been unleashed from school for the summer (bad); and, well, Vancouver rioted (ugly). There's much we COULD discuss and plenty of discourse to be had, but really, let's see what we're all here for: PICTURES OF PUPPIES!!!1! WOOOOHOOO!
Dog Blogger #2 out.
****

...And it is true what they say: If ya got it, flaunt it. Go on with yo' bad self, Maggie. Rock it.
****

Missing from this photo? Kaia's look of unadulterated disappointment after she discovered that the bowl held only a cake made from cloth-and-squeakers.
****

There is nothing missing from this photo. Murfy was this excited to play with his ice cream toy, and pretty much this excited for, honest to God, a good two hours. If only summer-vacationing kids were this easy to entertain.
****

Again: when you've got it, flaunt it. Mr B knows how it's done. Rock on, son: ROCK. ON.
****

I know, right? It actually HURTS to look at this photo because it's so cute. Seriously. It's ridic.
****

For Eva's-Mom-Who-Is-Out-of-Town: Your wriggly puppygirl loves to play, listens well, and stopped wrestling to take this noble pose. You should be proud!
****

MERLE MERLE MERLE: I'm very disappointed that there are not more things in life that are merle. I'm so over leopard print. Are you listening, House of Versace? It's all about the merle.
****

So the jar says: "Deli Stix - Free with a "sit"" -- so Bella jumped up in a chair. Sitting on the ground? Pffftt. For commoners ;)
****

The shirt is only PARTIALLY true; a more accurate shirt would've said: "Yes, I am Major Trouble here and there, but I am also the Colonel of Cute, and the Lieutenant of Awesome." Word.
****

Water Safety: We never said it would look cool.

VERY angry with Rogers. Internet, emails still down!

Oh, Rogers is in our bad books... They handed our internet service over to a new company, and this new company said it doesn't offer internet service to our area!

We are trying to solve this problem and attempting to find a new internet provider. In the meantime, please be patient. We won't be able to post a Dog Blog until the internet back is up (typing this from home), and don't forget our business email is down, so phone us at 778-370-0456 to make bookings.

Sorry... hopefully we'll be back online soon.

Our internet is down!

Sorry, no Dog Blog today (Tuesday) thanks to our Internet service provider... Our internet has been down all day, and now we are switching to a new provider.

We are writing this from home...

The Dog Blog will be back soon! Speak to Nigel for details.
