May 29: Hot, hot, hot

Aww... just check out Ozzy and Dawson, cuddling up together.

What an awesome start to the weekend! Sunshine & warm temperatures... perfect for hiking, the dog park, the lake. Nigel's going quad biking with his friends and I think I'll take Mika, Lexy and Frankie (boarding) to the dog park on Saturday.

We have the air con cranked in here so it's nice and cool. But it's definitely warming up outside. Took the dogs on their morning walks and we'll do some more (shorter) walks in the afternoon.

Here's a group photo, taken this morning, with a few dogs missing. Check out Bobo (maltipoo) and LG (Yorkie - far right) laying down on the pillow. "Just get this photo over with already!" LOL.

Okay, so what's been going on?

We've got a very cute chihuahua brigade today: Chico, Oliver, Dawson, Mika and Lexy, all weighing under 7 pounds, frolicking around together. Also part of the group are Ozzy (Min Pin) and Yuki (Papillon). I'll call this doggie pack the "Littl'uns" in the blurbs below.

* Little Dawson the chihuahua was pretty hungry today and just polished up all of her lunch. She's been running with the "Littl'uns" and also playing with LG (Yorkie-cross) and liking Gus's (Yorkie/Scottie) face.

* Buttons (cockapoo) gave Gus (Yorkie/Scotty) a warm welcome this morning, going up to him and touching noses/sniffing in a very friendly hello. She plopped herself down in the cool grass on her walk again! And, of course, she ate all of her lunch.

* Chico (chihuahua) is getting so much braver! He's been running in the "Littl'uns" pack and when Theodore (Yorkie) just arrived, he went straight up to him and gave him a nose-touch/sniff hello. He was also a very good sport posing for photos, Nigel says.

* At this moment, Casper (Coton du Tulear) is wrestling Heidi (schnoodle) - pouncing on each other and doing this spin-dance/come-get-me maneovre. He and his brother Jasper just ate their lunch and have spent the morning chasing each other and Heidi (shnoodle) all over the ramps in the back room and tackling one another.

* Yuki (Papillon) has been running around with the "Littlun's" pack. Right now he's playing with Bobo (maltipoo) and Theodore (Yorkie). Yuki ate all of his breakfast.

* Frankie's (Boston Terrier) was playing tug of war with LG (Yorkie) this morning. He gobbled up all of his breakfast and has been having fun mingling with the pack, getting his exercise!

* At this very moment, LG (Yorkie) is spinning in circles, biting his tail. He's been doing lots of playing today - wrestling with Gus (Yorkie/Scottie), playing gentle with little Dawson the chihuahua, and tug-of-war with Frankie. Spike was running around with his brother this morning and playing chase.

* Gus is still fairly new to daycare and didn't eat his breakfast (not unusual with the new dogs). This morning he was doing lots of playing - chasing Ozzy (Min Pin), getting face kisses from Dawson (chihuahua) and wrestling Bobo (maltipoo). He goes through spurts of wanting his quiet time and crawls into one of the back caves for a rest. He's definitely gaining confidence around the other dogs, although he still needs more socialization.

* Ozzy (Min Pin) is blasting around with his girlfriend Dawson and the rest of the "Littl'uns" pack. He's also been having fun chasing Gus (see above). He ate a little more than yesterday for lunch.

* Sebastian's (miniature poodle) been pretty sleepy today. Maybe it's the warm weather? Or maybe he misses his girlfriend, Milky. Awww... He was doing lots of napping this morning but has gone out for his morning walk and is up now, running around. He ate about half of his lunch.

* Bobo (maltipoo) was all wags and wiggles when he arrived, shimmying around to say hello to all of his friends. He especially likes playing with Heidi (shnoodle), Gus (Yorkie/Scottie) and Yuki (Papillon). He ate most of his lunch.

* Oliver (chihuahua) has been running around with the "Littl'uns" pack (read above for more). He was whimpering a little when he arrived but has since settled down. There are quite a few chihuahuas here for him to play with and he does tend to stick with the other dogs his size. He's comfortable around the other dogs here so daycare should be really good for him to gain his confidence and make some new friends!

* This morning, Heidi was blasting around the back room with Spike and LG, chasing each other all over the ramps. She's also been wrestling with Bobo and playing chase with little Dawson. She ate all of her lunch.

* Theodore (Yorkie) arrived around lunch time and was all tail-wags when he was dropped into the pack, saying hello to everyone. He's a confident little guy, going around to see if there are any new faces in the crowd. Right now he's playing with Yuki, the Papillon puppy who he hasn't met before. We took away the ball so he can have more one-on-one time with the other dogs. Once Teddy sees a ball, it's all over!

May 28: Say "cheese please!"

It's a gorgeous, sunny day outside - perfect dog-walking weather. The first round is done and you can bet we'll be making excuses to get out there as much as possible this afternoon. The dogs have just finished their lunches, so read down to see what's been going on:

* Dawson, the chihuahua puppy, just arrived to much doggie fanfare. Ozzy's (Min Pin) eyes lit up when he saw her across the room, and he bolted lightning-fast to greet her hello. Right now, Umber (chi puppy) is doing her grinding play growl, pouncing on Dawson and doing their little dance.

* Speaking of Umber, little miss playful has been chasing and wrestling Yuki (Papillon puppy) for hours. Up until Dawson arrived... (see above). Right now the social butterfly is running around the place, barking at dogs to play with her!

* Yuki (Papillon) and Umber were inseparable this morning, as you read above. He's very playful and gets along great with everyone. He ate his breakfast.

* I have to mention Ozzy next, because he's also part of the Umber-Molly-Dawson pack (read "Dawson" above). It was so cute, seeing him lock eyes with Dawson and then bolt across the room, pushing other dogs out of the way, to be reunited with his best buddy. Ozzy ate a little lunch but wasn't too hungry.

* Must be getting warm out there - Buttons (cockapoo) kept laying down in the tall, cool grass for a relaxing break during her walk! She just ate all of her lunch and is chilling with the pack right now.

* Enid also really enjoyed her walk outside with Pat and Buttons. She's been doing lots of mingling with the pack and a bit of running around, so right now she's taking a little rest on the dog bed. Her eyes are open though, watching everything that's going on.

* Molly (Min Pin cross) just ate lunch and has been playing with her little pack: Ozzy, Dawson and Umber, plus a few of the "bigger" kids - Jude (puggle) and Milky (Bichon/poodle).

* Bechler's (Boston Terrier) been blasting around the place, teaming up with Spike and LG (Yorkie and Yorkie-cross), Frankie (BT) and playing tug of war with Jude (puggle).

* Marley's best buddies? Hmm... no surprises here! She was doing her run and pounce game with Spike and LG this morning, chasing each other from either side of the room and pouncing on to the dog bed for a wrestle. And her buddy Mika should be arriving any minute...

* Frankie's (Boston Terrier) had a good sleep and returned to daycare feeling re-energized, zooming around with Bechler (Boston). He was running laps around our apartment last night, chasing our dogs Mika and Lexy.

* Jude (puggle) was playing tug of war with Bechler earlier, and right now is chilling out on the dog bench, taking a five-minute break. Oh - no wait - he's up! Wrestling Molly, his girlfriend.

* The ever-playful Milky (Bichon/poodle) was wrestling lots with Yuki (Papillon) and Molly (Min Pin) this morning. She ate all of her lunch.

* Bailey loved his walk with Pat and Charlie, and got all frisky and excited, frolicking through the grass. He reallly likes Milky and little Dawson the chihuahua puppy - going up to her to say hello and make her feel welcome. His brother Charlie was chasing Marley (Havanese) around the room and playing a little with Yuki, the Papillon puppy.

* Spike and LG were blasting around the place with Marley earlier - the three of them rolling around and doing speed-diving into the dog bed (read "Marley" above for more). They've also been wrestling Bechler and playing tug of war with the rope toys.

* Ooh la la... Sebastian's girrrrl-friend is here! Milky! Oh boy, love is in the air. He's been chasing her around and wrestling her. These two are so cute. Sebastian wasn't hungry for lunch.

May 27: New grooming services offered

Has your dog got smelly breath? Do you seem him/her scooting (rubbing his/her behind) on the carpet at home?

We have a couple of new add-on or drop-in services offered on Wednesday that may interest you. The first is tooth brushing for $5. The second is the anal glands secreted ($3). They charge $20 for this at the vet. There's also the nail trim, for $8.

Also, if you're after just a plain 'ol bath on any day of the week EXCEPT Wednesday, we offer a bath service for $20. That doesn't include nails or any of the fabulous extras you get on Spaw day with our professional groomer, but is an option if your dog is starting to smell and in need of an emergency bath. This is done by us here at the daycare.

Also, I'm soooo happy to say we've never seen a flea here at Small Paws, as it is a requirement that all dogs who to daycare are on a flea-control program. Please, let's keep it that way! We are enforcing a new rule that if we do see a flea on your dog, we will charge an $80 fee to cover our costs of fumigating and bathing the other dogs in flea-control shampoos. Trust me, we won't be very happy about it... so please protect your dog by keep giving him/her the monthly flea drops or medication. Thanks. :-)

All the morning walks and lunches are done. Scroll down to see what your dog has been up to (just to make things confusing, we have two Bella's and two Gus's here!):

* Let's start with Daisy, a new shih tzu who's celebrating her first day at daycare (pictured to the left). She's a floppy, fluffy, adorable puppy who loves to play. She's been running around saying hello to all the dogs and making lots of new friends. She wasn't hungry for lunch (too much going on!) Hugo, the shih tzu puppy, really likes her.

* Next let's talk about Hugo (shih tzu puppy). He's getting braver each visit and made a new girrrrl-friend today (Daisy!). He also likes Yuki (Papillon puppy). He's still a little timid though and could use more socialization.

* Frankie (Boston Terrier) is here with us for boarding for the next week or two, so he'll be getting lots of exercise! He's been doing lots of playing and was quite worn out last night. Today he's been wrestling lots with Winston (beagle-cross) and Gus (Am'n cocker spaniel).

* Buttons (cockapoo) is part of the cool, laid-back crew. She's been hanging out with Snoopy (cocker spaniel-cross). She just ate all of her lunch. Mmm, mmm...

* Snoopy ate a little bit today. He's been chilling on the blankets with Buttons and watching the fast-paced world of dogs and balls run past! He received a barrage of kisses from Winston when he arrived, and Lexy is going to be turning up soon (look out, Snoops!).

* Bella (Maltese) was hanging with the pack, being very cute and chasing her tail. At the moment she's in the Spaw getting her hair done... she's going to look super cute.

* And then there's the other Bella (Chi/Jack Russell - pictured left), who's a lot braver today. She's running around with the pack and met the older version of her - another chi/Jack Russell cross called Lui Lui. Fabulous! I was hoping they'd meet, and they get along great. Bella ate some of her lunch.

* They say pictures tell a thousand words, so you can tell by this photo to the left that Yuki (Papillon) has been having a good day. He's wrestling Gus (American cocker spaniel) in this pic, and has also been playing lots of Winston. He ate all of his brekky.

* Tuka (American Eskimo) was happy to see his girlfriend, Katie (Sheltie) here today. He loved his walk with Pat and Heidi and did his funny bum wiggle/scratching in the bushes.

* Gus (Am'n cocker spaniel) is full of energy, playing tug of war with LG, chasing after Frankie (Boston Terrier) and Winston (beagle-cross) and wrestling Yuki (Papillon). He ate all of his lunch. It's now 2 p.m. as I type this, and many of the dogs are starting to take dog-naps, but Gus is still playing, playing, playing... We'll wear him out! :-)

* Winston (beagle-cross) is also still up and running around. Boy, these dogs are going to be pooped tonight! After I finish writing this, we'll do another round of walks and pee breaks, and then the dogs will probably settle for some quiet time. Winston's been playing with LG, Gus, Frankie and Molly (Min Pin cross).

* Here is a photo of Oliver (chihuahua) before going into the Spaw. He just finished his grooming treatment and is now mingling with the pups in the daycare. At this moment, Lui Lui (Jack Russell-chi) is going up to him to say hello and make him feel welcome. :-)

* Molly (Min Pin cross) just ate lunch. She was hilarious on her walk with Pat and Lola, rolling in the grass. She's been wrestling lots with Yuki (Papillon) and Winston (beagle-cross), plus her best buds, Ozzy and Dawson.

* Chico (chihuahua) is getting much more confident each day. There are a lot of chihuahuas and chihuahua-crosses here today, so he has lots of little friends his size to hang out with. It's so good for him! You should see him, running around with Bella (chi), Mika (chi), Ozzy (Min Pin), Mika (chi) and Oliver (chi). He didn't eat any of his lunch.

* Dawson (chi), at this moment, is snuggling up to her big buddy Ozzy (Min Pin) in their favourite spot - the orange dog bed. She's been playing with Ozzy and Molly. Pat says she was super cute on her walk this morning, walking through grass that was taller than her! She just ate lunch.

* Spike and LG are sitting on the bench, taking some chill time. They were running around all morning, chasing Winston and rolling around on the dog beds in a blur of fur and teeth. LG's also been playing tug of war with Gus (Am'n cocker spaniel). That's LG pictured left.

* Here's another fabulous action shot for ya! Katie (Sheltie) has been inseparable from Heidi (shnoodle) all morning. They do this dance and wrestling jig on their two back legs, which is hilarious. she's also been chasing after the ball and burning lots of energy.

* Heidi (shnoodle) has been playing lots with Katie (see above - and the photo!), Maximus (Yorkie) and Sebastian (miniature poodle). She ate all of her lunch.

* Lui Lui (Jack Russell-chi) has made lots of new friends today. I was so happy she got to meet little Bella, her mini-me (the JR-chi puppy)! She's also been really friendly to the other chihuahuas she hasn't met before: Oliver and Chico. She ate most of her lunch.

* Great to see Gus (Scotty/Yorkie) back at daycare again! It's been a while so he was a little nervous heading back into the lion's den with all the other pups, but he's getting much better and is happy running around with the pack. He wasn't hungry for lunch.

* Ozzy (Min Pin) is currently curled up with Dawson (chi), having a nap. Those two have become such a couple. He's like her big brother! This morning he took on Gus the American cocker spaniel in a wrestling match, rolling around on the pillows. He's also been chasing Molly around, and ate lunch.

* Lola (cockapoo) has been playing tug of war with Gus (American cocker spaniel) and chasing after the ball with the pack. She gave Nigel lots of kisses and cuddles when she arrived - always such a happy, lovable dog!

* Sebastian (miniature poodle) has been playing with Heidi (shnoodle) and ate lunch today!

* Maximus (Yorkie) has been burning around the place, playing with pretty much everyone. He especially likes Heidi (shnoodle) and Winston (beagle-cross), and right now is chasing after the ball with Lola. He ate all of his lunch.

May 26: Wet doggies

Looooove is in the air.

Milky the Bichon/poodle is looking adorable with her new hair cut and the boys are all scrambling to play with her. Sebastian (miniature poodle), Yuki (Papillon) and Ozzy (Min Pin) just love her and have been frolicking around with her all morning.

And when they walk away for a minute, Milky's white fluffy girlfrined, Jones (Bichon), scrambles in there for a little wrestle.

But that's not all! We have a high-energy pack in here this morning, zooming around the ramps in the back and playing chase. I'm amazed Nigel was able to get them to sit still for this group photo...

It's been a pretty wet morning so we took this group photo before the walks. You should have seen how soggy they looked after their morning romp through the grass! Lucky it's nice and dry and warm in here so they dried up quickly.

* Scooby (American cocker spaniel) just hoovered up his lunch. He worked up an appetite chasing after the ball and playing tug of war with LG (Yorkie) all morning, and chasing Frankie (Boston Terrier).

* Yuki's been buzzing around, playing with pretty much everyone. He started off by wrestling/chasing/kissing Molly (Min Pin-cross) and has also been in a little play-pack with Milky (Bichon/poodle) and Umber (chihuahua puppy). Yuki ate all his brekky.

* Buttons also just gobbled up her lunch. Boy, did she get excited when Pat started to leave the gates. She was barking and hopping up and down! "Cesar! Cesar!" ... probably one of the highlights of her morning, other than her walk with Pat and Enid, and chilling on her fav blanket. :-)

* Molly (Min Pin cross) loves Yuki (Papillon puppy). They've been rolling around all morning. She's also been bolting after Jude (puggle) on the red ramps in the back room, wrestling and chasing at the same time! She was really hungry today for lunch.

* You know, dogs are so much like little kids. They have their favourite friends and tend to latch on to them when they get here and play with them straight away. This is the case for Marley (Havanese), who loves to play with Spike and LG, and also our Mika the chihuahua. She's hilarious - so much energy in the morning, and then (like clockwork) her 12 o'clock nap - and then round two in the afternoon.

* We didn't take little Dawson out for a walk this morning because it was so wet and cold... she would have been drenched. She's been doing lots of playing with her new best friend, Umber (chihuahua), as well as her boyfriend Ozzy (Min Pin), and Jude (puggle), Molly (Min Pin-cross) and Yuki (Papillon). Wow, popular! She ate her lunch.

* Jasper and Casper (Coton du Tulear) have been the little socialites again today. Casper was playing ball with Scooby (American cocker spaniel) and wrestling with Heidi (shnoodle). A few minutes ago, they were both screaming around from room to room, blasting all over the ramps in the back, chasing Jude (puggle) and Yuki (Papillon). The boys came back drenched after their walks... Nigel will be giving them baths at around 1:30. They just ate all of their lunch.

* Umber (chihuahua puppy) is getting to be quite the little player! It's hilarious seeing her play with little Dawson (chi pup). She's getting really vocal and does this low growling sound when she's wrestling that sounds like a car with a dead battery trying to start up. She's also been playing with Yuki, the super friendly papillon puppy.

* Jude has a girl-friend.... He just loves Molly (Min Pin cross) and always goes straight up to her when she's here. He's also been playing tug of war with Marley (Havanese) and wrestling Yuki (Papillon) and Dawson (chihuahua). He may be one of the bigger small dogs here but he's very gentle with all the littl'uns and loves to play with them!

* Maximus is so well behaved! He just likes hanging with the pack and gets along with everyone - especially Pepe (Havanese) and Buttons (cockapoo). He also loves his walks and getting attention from us humans. :-)

* There are a lot of dogs here today so Spike and LG have been strolling around, doing their little Hall Monitor/Policing job, keeping the order within the dog pack. Normally they team up with Lexy, our noisy terror (oops - I mean, terrier) to patrol the daycare. Spike & LG have also been wrestling with Marley, playing tug of war, and chasing Molly. LG is looking very fit these days.

* Ozzy (Min Pin) just ate his lunch. He was embroiled in a heated game of tug of war with Marley (Havanese) and a few minutes ago was wrestling his girlfriend, Milky. He's also been chasing Dawson, Heidi and Molly around... (all females - what a lady's man/dog!). Look at him go for the jugular in this photo. LOL.

* Milky, as you read in the intro and also throughout this blog, is Ms. Popular today. She was just playing this run and pounce game with Jones (Bichon puppy) which was too cute. They take a run at each other, jump, and tackle! She just ate most of her lunch.

* Frankie (Boston Terrier) has arrived for boarding. He's been blasting around with Jude (puggle) and Scooby (Am'n cocker spaniel)... we're wearing him out so he'll sleep soundly at our place tonight. :-)

* Happy to see Jones here again! It's been a while, but as soon as I walked into the daycare, I heard her unmistakable, goofy bark/talk. It's hilarious! She reminds me of a cartoon character, even in how she's been playing her pounce/attack game with Milky (see above for more). she's also been chasing Scooby (Am'n cocker spaniel) and Marley around.

* Sebastian's girlfriend is here today so he's a very, very happy dog. Here's a picture of him playing with Milky. He's also been chasing Pepe (Havanese) around and just ate all of his lunch.

* Enid's doing great, as always. She loves her walks outside and likes to hang with the pack. She gets along with everyone and does chase after the ball in the morning. Right now she's sitting on a blanket on the bench next to Ozzy and Heidi, just checking things out.

* Mico (Shih tzu) has a similar attitude to Enid. She's a lovely dog, very friendly, but isn't joining in the playing madness. She likes to hang out with the pack and just watch everything that's going on! She also enjoys her walks outside and human cuddles.

* Marcello is also hanging out with the mellow crowd. He did his mingling, saying hello to all his friends, and is now sitting on the bench near Enid, just watching the dogs run in circles beneath his feet. He always gets along with everyone, and he's not huffing and puffing like he used to (he seems really healthy!).

* Pepe (Havanese) has playing with his buddy Bobo (maltipoo) and Jones (Bichon). He also likes Sebastian (miniature poodle). He's a very gentle, lovely dog who likes to roll on his back and play with other gentle, little dogs. Bobo and Jones are two of his good buddies.

* Heidi just ate all of her lunch. All of the dogs were really hungry today - must be all the exercise they've been getting this morning! She's been chasing Jones (Bichon) and wrestling her boyfriend Ozzy, and chasing Jasper and Casper (Coton du Tulear) around the back ramps.

* Nigel picked Bobo (maltipoo) up in the pup shuttle and delivered him to daycare to play, play, play... He latched on to Jones (Bichon puppy) and started playing with her straight away. He also loves playing with Milky (all little white dogs), and has been wrestling Pepe (Havanese). He just ate all of his lunch.

May 25: Monday = Funday

This photo is ridiculously cute! Look how Bechler (Boston Terrier) is laying flat down, eyes closed, next to Linus (miniature dachshund)... "Just get this photo over with already!"

And then there's Ozzy and his new best buddy, Dawson, sitting so attentively on the pink chair.

I love it. :-)

So what's been going on today? Well at the moment, Theodore (Yorkie) is barking at anyone who'll try to take the ball off of him. He loooves playing fetch - and doesn't like it when other dogs stand in his way.

He's such a little guy, but incredibly feisty!

* Bechler has also been zooming around with Scooby (American cocker spaniel) and playing tug of war. He and Rolo have been pretty much inseparable though. Oh, and check out this cute photo of Bechler and the little chihuahua puppy, Dawson! Looking a little sleepy...


* Ozzy, as you read above, has had lots of energy this morning, running around with his furry friends (especially Rolo and Bechler) and playing with the rope toys. He ate all of his lunch.

* Scooby (American cocker spaniel) hasn't been here for a while so he's making up for lost time... play, play, play! He looooves chasing Rolo (pug).

* Then we've got the ball-chasing crowd. There's Maggie (Cairns Terrier), Spike (Yorkie), Theodore (Yorkie), and Peanut (Min Pin) all dashing after the rubber ball. Look out for Theodore though, pups! He's on a ball-chasing mission...

* Buttons is looking all glamorous today with a new haircut. She's been shaved down for summer and looks even more like a cute little lamb. She ate all of her lunch.

* Chico the chihuahua is here for his second day and is showing lots of improvement. He's very good with us humans but a little unsure around the other dogs. Still, he's a lot less nervous than last week and doing more sniffing and mingling... a great sign! He's a lovely little dog. I'm hoping he'll become good buddies with Dawson. :-) Chico didn't eat any lunch, which isn't too surprising. There's a lot going on...

* Chico's soon-to-be-new-BFF Dawson (chihuahua puppy) is also here today. She's been coming to daycare pretty much since day one and is very well socialized with humans and dogs. For such a young pup, she's really good at doing her business on the pee pads. Yay, Dawson! Today she walked for the entire walk, trotting along with Pat and Sebastian. She ate all of her lunch.

* Spike and LG are taking a little breather right now after a very active morning. The dogs sure get their exercise here at daycare, what with the playing and walks! Spike was chasing after the ball and wrestling with his brother earlier, and LG's been play-fighting Bechler and Scooby.

* We haven't seen any playing out of Linus (miniature dachshund) yet this morning. He's been doing lots of mingling and cuddling up to us humans though. He enjoyed his walk earlier with Pat and Buttons and loooves his treats.

* YAY! Happy to see Emmi and Peanut again. As you read above, Peanut (Min Pin) was chasing after the ball earlier on, and Emmi has been wrestling lots with Theodore (Yorkie). We'll take them out for another walk in the afternoon, once I've finished typing this blog. :-)

* Sebastian (miniature poodle) was blasting around the room this morning, chasing Ozzy, who was chasing Rolo. They had a little train game of "Come and get me!" going on. He ate about half of his lunch today.

* And then there's our two mascots, Mika (chihuahua) and Lexy (chihuahua-silky terrier), who had the novelty of sleeping in this morning due to a shortage of space in the pup shuttle. They'll be arriving at 2 p.m. to tear up the place with renewed energy, I'm sure...

* Sasha (Papillon) arrived in the afternoon and has been getting along fabulously with Dawson, the chihuahua puppy. Just check out this photo of the two of them... they've been following each other around. Sasha was acting a little shy when she first arrived but is now mingling and having fun!

May 22: Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday! The sun is shining and it looks like it'll be a brilliant weekend. Round one of walks are done and we'll take the dogs out again in the afternoon.

We have a new dog here today - Chio the chihuahua! He's two years old and was a little anxious around the other dogs at the start, but has perked right up and is making great progress. Read more about him below...

So here's what your dog has been up to, as of 1 p.m.:

* We'll start with Chico, the new chihuahua. He's adorable and pretty small, two years old. This is his first day and he hasn't been around a lot of dogs in the past so he was a little nervous at the start, as you'd expect. He began by sniffing the other dogs from afar, nervous about getting up too close. And now? He's making huge progress, going up to the dogs to say hello, and sniffing butts. He'll need more socialization but Chico's a good boy and we know he'll make doggie friends here.

* Rolo (pug) is refreshed after a deep sleep last night and is back to his usual, playful self. That's him with his tongue out in the group photo. He's been eating well and having a fun time (staying with us for boarding right now). A minute ago he was kissing Dawson's (chihuahua) face... his tongue is the size of her head, so she was getting quite the face wash! He's also been playing with Milky (Bichon/poodle), Heidi (shnoodle) and Molly (Min Pin cross).

* Yuki (Papillon puppy) is back for day two of play, play, play... After a night of sleep, he has bounced back to his energetic self and has been wrestling Molly (Min Pin cross) and Gus (American cocker spaniel). He also loooooves Dawson, the tiny chihuahua puppy.

* Brothers Jasper and Casper have cracked us up all week. They've been SO happy and playful every day, just chasing each other around and rounding up other dogs to play chase with them. Right now they're prancing around and doing this circle-spin-pounce manoevre with Heidi (shnoodle). Casper gave Dawson the tiny chihuahua puppy lots of kisses when he saw her, and Jasper was super friendly to Mico (shih tzu), who he's never met before. They ate all their lunch.

* We love sunny days like this for taking the dogs for walks. Buttons was pretty funny today, plopping down in the cool grass every few minutes during her walk. At the moment she is barking at Gus (American cocker spaniel pup) to get away, because he's trying to play with her. She likes her peace and quiet, and human cuddles. She ate all her lunch.

* Speaking of peace and quiet, Snoopy's back! We haven't seen him for a while so we were happy to see his fluffy face. For those of you who don't know Snoopy, he's the cream-coloured cocker spaniel-cross who looks like a puppy, but who's really 15+ years old (he's a rescue so the owners aren't sure of his exact birthdate). He didn't want to go too far on his walk this afternoon, but is enjoying snoozing in the back caves. He's a bit of a celebrity here with the other dogs - they all try to give him kisses all the time.

* Another celebrity around here is Dawson, the two-pound chihuahua puppy. "Is Dawson here today?" we hear every morning. Everyone wants to see her... She's super friendly and loves both humans and dogs. Today she's been cuddling up with Ozzy, the Min Pin, in the orange bed, and playing with Molly (Min Pin cross). Rolo (pug) gave her kisses with his big tongue, which is the size of her whole face. She ate quite a bit of her lunch. Yum, yum!

* Molly (Min Pin cross) always has a little clique going on with Ozzy (Min Pin) and lately, Dawson (see above for more). They're the little three amigos, bombing around together and wrestling, doing nose-dives into the dog beds. She's also been playing lots with Rolo, the pug, and Milky (Bichon/poodle). Molly ate about half of her kibble for lunch.

* Ozzy is also part of the Dawson-Molly pack (see the above two for more). He's also been playing with Milky. I saw Ozzy giving Dawson the chihuahua a loving face wash as they cuddled up together in the orange dog bed. Awww... He only ate a little lunch today. Maybe he's getting bored of his kibble?

* Bailey (Yorkie-chihuahua) and Charlie (Pom-chi) have had a pretty chilled morning. They enjoyed their walk with Pat and I saw Charlie playing a bit with Yuki, the new Papillon. Right now they're cuddled up on the dog bed but they usually wake up in the afternoon for round two of mingling and running around.

* Spike & LG (Yorkie and Yorkie-cross) were zooming around this morning. LG's new favourite game is tug of war with the rope toys. Spike prefers chasing after the ball. They're both looking a bit tired right now (Spike more than LG) after a morning of chasing the pack around.

* Milky (bichon/poodle) has been zooming around, all wags and wiggles. She's been frolicking around with Molly (Min Pin cross), Rolo (pug), Heidi (shnoodle) and Ozzy (Min Pin). She loved her walk but wasn't hungry for her lunch.

* Mico has made a few new friends today. She's a very good girl - so well-behaved and friendly with all the other dogs. Casper (Coton du Tulear) came up to her and said hello really nicely to make her feel comfortable. She's been hanging out with the pack and enjoyed her walks in the sun.

* Gus is ripping around the place, playing lots with Rolo (pug) and Yuki (Papillon). He gobbled up all of his lunch and has already had two walks outside.

* Heidi has been playing with Milky and Rolo, and chasing Yuki, the new Papillon, around the room super fast. She ate all of her lunch and loved her walk outside with Pat and LG. We'll take her out again in a few mins.

* Nigel wrote this on the sheet about Bobo today: "Very well behaved in car." Not sure what that means exactly, but Go Bobo! He's been playing with his girlfriend Milky (bichon/poodle) and is wrestling Heidi (shnoodle) as I type this. He ate all of his lunch.

* Sebastian made a new friend today - Mico (shih tzu). He was really curious about her at first and has been following her everywhere. He also loves Dawson, the chihuahua puppy, giving her lots of sniffs. He enjoyed his walk with Pat and Yuki.

* Sasha (Papillon) just arrived. Hurray! I was hoping she'd have a chance to meet Yuki. The two have become instant friends, wagging their tails and following each other around. We'll take a photo of the two of them together...

May 21: One big happy family

Happy (sunny) Thursday, everyone!

Looks like we're going to have a gorgeous weekend... anyone going camping? To the dog park? The sea wall?

Say hello to the new puppy here today, Yuki! He's a Papillon pup and is super friendly, playing with pretty much everyone...

The morning walks and lunches are done. We'll be doing more walks in the afternoon sun. Scroll down to see what your dog has been up to so far:

* Let's start with the new puppy, Yuki. He's a very friendly Papillon with lots of energy, ready to play, play, play... I hope Sasha, Wolfie and Lola (our other Papillons) get to meet him soon. Yuki's been wrestling with Bechler (Boston Terrier) and Jude (puggle), dogs much bigger than him. He also loves Umber, the little chihuahua puppy, Ozzy (Min Pin), and Sebastian (miniature poodle). Yuki's very popular! He ate all of his breakfast and we'll feed him his dinner at 5:30.

* Spike & LG started playing straight away with Marley, chasing her around and wrestling. They had a rousing game of fetch going on earlier, and LG looooves playing with his buddy Bechler (surprise, surprise!).

* Rolo (pug, pictured left with his tongue hanging out) is boarding with us right now and he was a very good boy last night at our place (sleepy after playing all day!) We're wearing him out again today - he's been zooming around non-stop with Jude (puggle) and Bechler (Boston Terrier), locked in a three-way wrestle match.

* Bechler's having a blast, as always. His best buddies are Rolo and Jude (read "Rolo" above for more). He also likes the new puppy, Yuki (Papillon).

* Same for Jude. Read "Rolo" above for more. The three dogs have been inseparable. Jude has also been playing with the new dog, Yuki.

* Buttons had a lovely, leisurely walk in the sun with Pat and Sebastian. Hurray - we're loving this sunshine. Time to break out the sun chairs and summer dresses... well, almost. Buttons ate all of her lunch and is chilling out in her favourite spot right now - on the shelf, on a blanket - watching the other pups run past.

* Marley's BFF, Mika the chihuahua, stayed home today for a snooze, but Marley hardly noticed. She's been buzzing around with Spike and LG, and chasing Jude (puggle). She's a little dog but she's not afraid to play with some of the bigger kids!

* Jasper and Casper have been very happy pups these past few days, whipping around the place and playing lots! Normally Casper is the more playful one but Jasper's been joining in more recently, too. They were both chasing and wrestling the new dog, Yuki, and Lui Lui (Jack Russell-chihuahua). We caught a video of it but I'm having trouble downloading it to the computer. Nigel? Help! The boys ate all their lunch.

* Lui Lui has come leaps and bounds (literally!) since starting at daycare. She used to bare her teeth and get really nervous around other dogs. You should see her today... we took a video but are having some technical difficulties. She's been playing with Jasper and Casper (read their blurb for more), was trying to get Umber (chihuahua) to play, and was chasing Bechler (Boston Terrier) around the room. Go Lui Lui!

* I remember when Umber (chihuahua puppy) first coming to daycare, it took her a few days to start playing with the other dogs. She was always confident around them, but it took a while before she started wanting to pounce and chase them. Now she's an old (but young) pro! She was very excited to come in, and loves playing with the new Papillon puppy, Yuki.

* Ozzy also loves the new pup, Yuki. They had a high-energy game of chase going on. He's also been playing with Rolo (pug). He ate most of his lunch.

* Sebastian ate a little of his lunch today. His best buddy of the day is Yuki, the new Papillon puppy. Sebastian is quite a bit taller than him so it's cute seeing them chase each other around and play.

May 20: Puppies and ... a baby?!

We have some exciting news... there's a little bub on the way! We've just returned from our first ultrasound and saw the baby's for the first time. He/she is due Oct. 11.

As you can see, it's a busy day at daycare. This group photo below was taken a couple of hours ago and we've since added a couple more to the pack (28 in total here today).














All the morning walks are done, and we've just finished lunches. We've bought a whole bunch of new indestructible toys so the dogs have been playing fetch and tug to their heart's content. Scroll down to see what's been going on so far.



* Buttons' internal afternoon alarm clock just went off. "What? Lunch time?" She was hopping around and barking excitedly, so pumped up for her Cesar. Yum, yum...


* Sheraz was a little nervous at first but is warming up to everyone. She likes to chill out in the back room in a cave, on a blanket, and comes out to mingle with the pack every now and again. She loved her walk with Pat and Jude and ate all of her lunch.


* Spike & LG were full of energy this morning. And right now? Both are looking pretty sleepy, taking a dog-nap on the bench. They have been playing tug of war with Jude (puggle) and chasing Jasper and Casper from room to room, plus WWF wrestling one of their best buds, Winston (beagle-cross).


* Jasper and Casper have been hilarious these past couple of days, just bombing around super fast, whipping around the ramps with Spike and LG in tow. Casper grabbed on to Jasper's tail in their wrestle match. They both ate all their lunch.


* Dawson had a blast in the small room this morning, bolting after Molly (Min Pin-cross) and Ozzy (Min Pin) and Mika (chihuahua) through the blue tunnel and all around the room. Here's a photo of the three of them playing with the orange rope toy. She ate lots for brekky and had a good appetite for lunch, too.


* We have two Bella's here today! So the first one I'll mention is Bella the Maltese. I was thrilled to see how brave and confident she was when she came in this morning. I haven't seen her play with any of the dogs yet today but she has been running up to other dogs and saying hello. She especially likes Hugo, the shih tzu puppy. Bella ate a little bit of her lunch.


* Molly (Min Pin cross) was hilarious, playing tug of war with Dawson and Ozzy this morning (see Dawson above for more). She's also been wrestling big Jude the puggle. She's looking beautiful after spending some time in the Spaw this morning. She ate most of her lunch.


* Ozzy was also in the Dawson-Molly-tug pack this morning. They're all in the big room now, chasing each other arond. He looks very handsome after his bath and tidy. Ozzy ate half of his lunch.


* Jude (puggle) is in a play pack with Winston (beagle-cross), Gus (American cocker spaniel), Rolo (pug) and Lola (cockapoo). They've been playing tug and wrestling. It was funny also seeing Jude wrestling with Molly, the little Min Pin cross who's so much smaller than him. :-)


* Gus is wrestling Charlie (shih tzu) right now. He's also been playing non-stop with Winston and Jude (see "Jude" above for more). He ate all of his lunch.


* Winston's best buddies today are Jude, Rolo, Spike and LG. He's also been playing in a pack nicely with Gus, although they gave each other a bit of the cold shoulder this morning when Winston first arrived. Now they seem to be friends again.


* Tuka was pretty chilled as usual today. He likes to sit on the bench, or lay down on the floor, and just watch the dogs run around him. Such a good boy. And so quiet! He enjoyed his walk with Pat and Spike.


* Hugo (shih tzu) is such a lovable little guy. He's spent the day in the big room, hanging out with the pack. He's very quiet and well-behaved and likes to be part of the action but we haven't seen him playing today. He does really like Bella (Maltese) though. I saw them go up to each other and give each other a friendly nose-sniff, and they've kinda been hanging out ever since.


* Now for the other Bella! She's a very sweet six-month-old chihuahua/Jack Russell cross. She was a little timid at first (her first day) so we had her in the small room with a few of the littl'uns. But now she's running around in the big room and has made lots of new friends. Her confidence has grown and she's showing her fiesty/fun side. She sat incredibly well for the group photo and ate a little of her lunch.


* Milky was in the Spaw this morning during the group photo so sorry you don't see her in there. She had her walk with Pat and Winston and had a little playtime (she's always so happy and playful!) with her buddies before heading into the back for her bath and hair cut.


* Enid is taking a dog-nap right now. She's been running around with the pack and enjoyed her walk with Pat and Gus this morning.


* Lola has just come out of the Spaw looking and smelling lovely. She was in the back room for the group photo so unfortunately she's not in it. Right now she's playing chase, fetching after the ball with Theodore (Yorkie).


* Charlie (shih tzu) is in the Spaw right now getting a hair cut. He always looks so adorable after a groom... His best buddy this morning has been Gus, the American cocker spaniel. They've been wrestling and chasing after each other.


* Pepe has been chasing Lola (cockapoo) and Heidi (shnoodle) around and was running around with the pack this morning. We took him out for a walk with Jasper and right now he's in the Spaw getting a bath and tidy.


* Heidi has endless energy these days... what are you feeding her? LOL. She's been running around with Ozzy, Pepe, Molly and Rolo. She ate all of her lunch.


* Rolo has just arrived for boarding, and he's been in this threesome wrestling match with Jude (puggle) and Winston (beagle-cross) for the past hour. Okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but they're all pretty much inseparable. He's also been playing with Heidi lots.


* Theodore is, at this very moment, chasing after the ball with Lola (cockapoo). He's a fiesty little thing, running up to Rolo (pug) and Jude (puggle) and barking at them to play with them.


* Sebastian arrived a little later in the afternoon and is just settling in. He's only been here for about 15 mins so there's not much to report yet... He's been running around and saying hello to all of his friends.

May 19: We're back!

Katya & Nigel are back from their trip and are both really happy to see the dogs!

So far this morning, everyone's been taking out for a morning walk, and we've just finished lunches. We'll do some more walks this afternoon (it's sunny!). Scroll down to read what your dog has been up to.

* Buttons (cockapoo) came flying through the doors, so excited to say hi. It's happy dogs like this that makes our job so fun. Pat took her for a walk with little Dawson, the chihuahua puppy, and they were a good match, trotting around. Buttons gobbled up her lunch in record time.

* Molly (Min Pin cross) also shot off like a bullet when she got here, so wriggly and excited to go play. She's been blasting around all morning, playing with Dawson the chihuahua puppy and wrestling Maggie (Cairns Terrier), and playing tug-of-war with Ozzy (Min Pin, also pictured left) and LG (Yorkie-shih tzu). She ate more than half of her lunch.

* Mika & Lexy (yes, our two), were really happy to be back at daycare and see all their friends after more than a week off. They've been playing with Maggie, Spike, LG, Dawson and Marley (Mika's BFF).

* Dawson, the 2 lb chihuahua puppy, went for her first walk today with Pat and Buttons. She did very well and walked for a while, and Pat carried her for the last leg of the journey. Dawson loves playing with Molly (Min Pin), Mika (chihuahua) and is being very brave, making lots of new friends! She ate her brekky and lunch.

* Marley has been tackling Spike & LG, wrestling and running around like a maniac this morning. She's taking a little breather right now!

* Spike & LG have also been playing non-stop. They were very curious with Dawson, the little chihuahua, and LG tried to play with her but she was a little timid of him. Even though he's a little guy, he must look like a giant to her. The boys have been wrestling Marley, and running around on the ramps, and chasing the ball.

* Maximus was a little nervous when he first arrived, but he gets along great with all the other dogs. Bailey (Yorkie-cross, pictured with Maximus to the left) loves him and started playing with him, and then Maximus joined a chase game with Jasper and Casper, bolting around like speed demons from room to room. He also really likes Maggie (Cairns Terrier).

* Bailey (Yorkie-chihuahua) was playing with Maximus this morning (see above for more) and Charlie's (Pom-chi) been chasing after the ball and barking at dogs to play with him. They always love their walks outside... and there's actually a bit of sunshine piercing through the skies. Yippee!

* Maggie (Cairns Terrier) is hilarious! She likes to roll on to her back to get dogs to play with her. That's her to the left wrestling with Lexy. She's also been playing with Molly (Min Pin).

* Jasper & Casper are full of beans today! They have been bombing it around from room to room, up the ramps, enticing other dogs to chase them in a pack. Zoomies!! They've been running around with Spike and LG, Maximus and Casper has been wrestling Molly. They ate all of their lunch.

* Max (Yorkie) just arrived and is saying his hellos to all his friends. He especially likes Molly (Min Pin) and Dawson (chihuahua) but he hasn't been here for a while so he's being a little shy. He'll warm up in no time. :-)

* Heidi loves to play tug-of-war, as you can see. She's got lots of energy this morning and has been chasing Ozzy, Molly, LG and ... well, everyone... around the room!

* Ozzy's best girlfriends, Heidi and Molly, are here today, so he's a happy dog. He grabbed one side of the rope toy, Molly grabbed the other side, and they started a game of tug-of-war, yanking each other here, there and everywhere... He ate all of his lunch.

May 6: It's a dog's life

How many dogs can you count in this picture? Can you see your littl'un? There are 23 in total, sitting pretty. This photo was taken after quite a few minutes of making them sit still, so they're looking a little fed up... LOL ("Where's my treat? Come on....!!")

It's been a busy morning, with dogs coming in and out for the grooming and all. We have hired a fabulous new daycare helper called Angie, who'll you likely see around in the next couple of weeks. Welcome, Angie!

So what has your dog been up to today? Scroll down to find out.

* "The fetch crew:" We've got a high-energy ball-chasing crew in the big room today, with Theodore (Yorkie), Katie (Sheltie), Jasper and Casper (Coton du Tulear), Spike (Yorkie) and LG (Yorkie-cross). Oh, I'm missing a few... also in the mix are Rico (pug-cross) and Heidi (shnoodle). So as you can see, quite a big pack blasting from room to room, pelting it after the ball.

* Scooby (American cocker spaniel)'s best buddies today are Gus (another cocker spaniel!), Rico (pug-cross) and Heidi (shnoodle). He's also been trying to wrestle Mika the chihuahua, with not a lot of luck, and is part of the fetch crew, but with more chasing other dogs than fetching. Scooby ate all of his lunch.

* Molly (Min Pin-cross) has been playing lots and won the heart of Angie, our new worker, with her cute puppy-dog eyes. She ate some of her lunch and has been spending a lot of time wrestling with Gus, the American cocker spaniel, Rico (pug-cross), and Ozzy, her boyfriend. So playful!

* Gus had a bath this morning and smells great. He'll be heading back into the Spaw in a little while for his hair cut. In the meantime he's passing the time by chasing his friends around and wrestling with Molly. Right now he's chasing Theodore (Yorkie) around the room! He gets along great with everyone. Gus also ate all of his lunch.

* Buttons is mingling with the pack right now, walking around with her buddies. A little earlier on, she was snuggled up on the blanket with Bailey (Yorkie-cross). She ate all of her lunch.

* Spike & LG were part of the ball-chasing crew (see the top item). Spike took a while to warm up to the new worker, Angie. He thinks this is his territory and he thought she was an intruder! But after a while he was going up to her and nudging her with his nose. I think they'll be best buds in no time. It was funny seeing Lui Lui (Jack Russell-cross) pounce and jump towards LG, wanting to play with him. She's normally pretty shy but she loves LG.

* Lui Lui is doing so great! It's hilarious seeing her try to play with LG (her new boyfriend?) Read "Spike & LG" above for more. Where's the camera when you need it, eh? I was too busy laughing and cheering to reach for it. Lui Lui ate most of her lunch.

* Jasper & Casper have running laps, chasing Rico (pug-cross) around the back room, up and down the ramps and all over. They've also been part of the ball-chasing crew. They ate all of their lunch.

* Ozzy best buddies are Molly and Heidi. He's taking a nap right now, all conked out. He ate all of his lunch.

* Bailey & Charlie enjoyed their walk this morning. Bailey curled up next to Buttons for a nap on the blanket earlier (very cute). We love Bailey's new hair cut - he looks so much younger! ha ha.. They both like the new human, Angie, and made her feel really welcome. They also like Mika the Maltese.

* Tuka (American Eskimo) was happy to see his girlfriend Katie (Sheltie) here today! He spent his morning hanging out with the pack, mostly lying on the floor and chilling out. Also, Pat took him for a walk with LG.

* At the moment, Mika (Maltese) is playing with Theodore (Yorkie). He looooves her. Must be the new 'do. She was also happy to see the humans here, and has been hanging out with Gus (cocker spaniel). She ate a little bit of her lunch.

* Hugo didn't do any playing today, but we know he has it in him... we've seen it in the past! Might be because he hasn't been here for a while. He gets along great with all the dogs and enjoys mingling with the pack. He's very quiet too (no whining or barking) - hurray! Might be a good idea to bring him more often so he feels more comfortable and eager to play. :-)

* Katie was very good in the Spaw today - and she looks gorgeous! Earlier on, she was part of the fetch crew (see above for more) and was also wrestling Heidi (shnoodle) and Rico (pug-cross).

* Rico's been bombing around the place all morning, part of the fetch crew (see above for more) and wrestling with pretty much everyone... He especially likes Heidi (shnoodle), Molly (Min Pin-cross), and bolting around the room with Jasper and Casper (Coton du Tulear).

* Heidi was also part of the Rico-Katie wrestle crew (see above for more), and was chasing after the ball in the morning with the fetch pack. Her best buddy today has been Rico (pug-cross).

* Sebastian has been bouncing and jumping around all day. Where does he get his energy? He loves Angie, the new worker, and tried to jump into her arms! He's been running around with the pack and playing with Rico (pug-cross). He ate a little lunch.

* Linus is chilling out on the blanket right now. He said his hellos to all the dogs and we've been giving him his treats. I haven't seen him play with anyone yet - he's often like this when he hasn't been here for a while. We'll take him out for a nice walk in a minute!

* Theodore spent hours chasing after the ball with the fetching crew (see above for more). We decided to take away the ball so he would play with the other dogs, and it worked! He's been playing with Mika (Maltese) and right now is chasing Gus (American cocker spaniel), who is probably 15 times his size. NO FEAR!

May 5: Game on!

You should see this little pups frolicking after one another in the small dog room today! There's Umber, Mika and Dawson (all chihuahuas), Ozzy and Molly (Min Pins) and Lexy (chihuahua cross).

They have been pouncing and zooming around, having the best time. Just check out the adorable photo above, with Dawson sticking out her tongue at Umber ("Na, na, na, na... you can't get me!")

And in the big room, we have a high-energy crew wrestling and chasing after the ball.

* We'll start with the dogs in the small dog room, since I've already touched on that. Little Dawson (three-month-old chihuahua) has been super playful, bouncing around and wrestling with everyone in there. She gets all the dogs playing. Dawson ate her brekky and lunch.

* Umber loooooves Dawson, and Mika and Ozzy. She's been bouncing between the two dog rooms, playing lots. In the big room, she likes to play with Milky (Bichon-cross).

* At this moment, Ozzy (Min Pin) is barking at Dawson to play with him. He also loves Maggie and Molly. Quite the lady's man today... He ate most of his lunch.

* Molly (Min Pin) has been playing between both the small and big rooms. She doesn't seem to realize her size and will play with absolutely everyone! It's funny seeing her wrestle with Jude, the puggle, who's so much bigger than her. She also loves Milky, Ozzy, Dawson and Umber. She ate most of her lunch.

* And now, let's move over to the big room! Lola (cockapoo) has just arrived and at this moment is chasing Jude (puggle) around the room. She was super excited to burst through those doors and has been running around, saying hi to everyone. What a little socialite!

* Jude has been full of beans all morning, wrestling and playing chase, having a blast. He'll wrestle anyone who'll let him! Rolo the pug just arrived and the two have been going at it. He also loves Winston, the two Min Pins, Ozzy and Molly.

* Also in the big room: Spike & LG. Spike is trying to rest on the dog bed right now but keeps getting disrupted by other dogs trying to play with him. He spent the morning chasing tail with Marley. LG had a big wrestle match with Winston.

* Next we should mention Winston, who's part of of the Jude-LG-Rolo play pack. These dogs are so fit and healthy, they can play for hours and not burn out! You should see them... Well, Winston is looking a little sleepy, but he keeps running! LOL. He also loves chasing Marley.

* Marley's been bombing around with Jude and Winston all morning. She also really likes Milky (Bichon-cross) and Bobo (maltipoo) - the three little white dogs reunited. :-)

* Speaking of Milky, she's been doing some big-time playing as well. Her best buds are Marley, Molly (Min Pin) and Umber (chihuahua). She wasn't hungry today for her lunch.

* Bobo's buddies are Maggie (Cairns Terrier) and Jude (puggle). Check out the photo of him and Jude to the left! He's been bombing around... such a happy dog. He ate most of his lunch.

* Maggie's best friend today has been Ozzy, the Min Pin. She's also been playing with Bobo the maltipoo. They've been wrestling lots! She seems to be going through a barking stage on the walks right now, barking at other dogs. Strange, because she never barks inside the daycare (unlike so many other dogs here!).

* Sebastian is in love... Can you see the stars in his eyes in this photo to the left? His girlfriend's name is Milky (Bichon-poodle) and he follows her everywhere and loves wrestling with her. Sebastian ate most of his lunch today.

* Buttons is hanging out with the pack and chilling out on her blanket. She has a built-in alarm clock at 12 noon and KNOWS it's lunch time! It's incredible. She gets so excited and starts hopping up and down for her Cesar. Yum, yum!

* Rolo (pug) arrived a little later in the afternoon and immediately latched himself on to Jude, the puggle. Those two always have a blast together. We just moved Ozzy back into the big room and Rolo's been playing with him lots, too!

May 4: Great start to the week

Mondays are usually pretty quiet, but as you can see, we've got a great pack here today. They all sat remarkably well for the group photo - even little Dawson the three-month-old chihuahua puppy (she's up on the green chair with Mika the chihuahua).

The morning walks have been done and the pups still have lots of energy, so we'll be taking them out again around 2 p.m. All the lunches have been done, too.

From now on, we'll be posting the report cards online on this blog, rather than printing them up. Not only is it better for the environment, but we've been hearing back from everyone that you like to read what all the dogs have been up to (not just your own). That's great news to us, too!

Saying that, scroll down to see what your dog has been up to today:

* The main playing crew at this very moment involves Bechler (Boston Terrier), Rolo (pug), Heidi (shnoodle) and LG (Yorkie-Shih tzu-cross). Bechler was also playing ball this morning with Katie (Sheltie), Jasper & Casper (Coton du Tulear), Spike & LG (Yorkie & Yorkie-cross) and Lola (cockapoo).

* Jasper & Casper were chasing after the ball, zooming around the place with Bechler, Katie, Spike, LG and Lola. Casper was chasing Jasper all over the ramps in the back room and playing with Heidi. They both ate all their lunch.

* Katie's also been involved in both the fetch and chasing games all morning. Her favourite game is playing fetch, of course, but she also likes wrestling Heidi (shnoodle) and Lola (cockapoo).

* Spike & LG have been playing chase (read Bechler above for more). LG has also been wrestling Bechler, his big buddy, and Heidi. LG just loves to chew on Bechler's cheeks... awww... must be puppy love.

* Lola loves to play fetch, and was part of the ball-chasing crowd this morning (see Bechler for more). She's also been wrestling Katie (Sheltie) and Heidi (shnoodle).

* Sebastian has been running around with the pack non-stop. His best buddy today is Bechler (Boston Terrier). The two of them have been playing lots. And guess what? He ate most of his lunch!

* Lots of Heidi's best buddies are here, so she's been frolicking around - mostly with her girlfriends Lola, Emmi and Katie. She's also been wrestling Bechler, LG, Casper and Rolo, to name a few... She ate all of her lunch.

* Rolo is part of the energetic play pack (see Bechler above for more!). He just loves Heidi and Bechler, and has been blasting around, chasing tails since he arrived. Vroom, vroooooom!

* Leo (maltipoo) was only here for a half day but he got his exercise. He was in the small room at first with the littl'uns, running around with the little puppy, Dawson, and playing with Charlie (pom-chi). We moved him into the big room and he got lots of kisses from Katie (Sheltie) and Peanut (Min Pin).

* Peanut & Emmi are in the big room with the "big" kids. Emmi's been playing with Heidi (shnoodle) and Peanut really likes Leo (maltipoo). They loved their walk outside!

* Buttons was thrilled to see her favourite humans here at the daycare, and Lexy (chihuahua-cross) was overjoyed to see Buttons. She ate all of her lunch and is resting right now in her favourite spot.

* Dawson the new chihuahua puppy (pictured left climbing on Lexy) has been playing chase with Mika the chihuahua, and was giving kisses to Leo the maltipoo. She is in the small room right now with Mika, Lexy, Bailey & Charlie. She ate her lunch - yum, yum!

* Bailey & Charlie really like the new little puppy, Dawson. They're in the small room right now (see "Dawson" above for more). Charlie has been playing with Leo (maltipoo) and the boys have been playing with each other. We're just about to take them out for another walk.

May 1: WWF wrestling matches

We've got a high-energy pack in here today!

At the moment, we have the dogs split into two rooms, with the more rambunctious small dogs in the bigger room, playing chase and wrestle.

In the smaller room, we have two new members of the pack: Kujo, a very sweet chihuahua, and Dawson, a three-month-old chihuahua puppy. Also in there keeping them company are Molly the Min Pin-cross, Ozzy the Min Pin, Mika the chihuahua and Lexy the chihuahua-cross.

All the morning walks are done and we'll take the dogs out again at around 2:30. The sun's-a-shining, so we've got to take advantage of that (and try to tire the pups out a bit more... LOL).

We've got lots of great pix today, so I'll try to integrate them into this blurb. Scroll down to see what your pup has been up to today:

* We'll start with the new chihuahua puppy, Dawson, who is tiny and absolutely adorable! She is very friendly with humans and loves to play with the other dogs. Check out this photo of her and Ozzy the Min Pin. She ate a little bit of lunch.

* Next is Kujo, another new chihuahua, who is having his first day at daycare today. He really likes the little chihuahua, Dawson, who keeps trying to hop up and play with him. He did a little whimpering this morning but has been wrestling with Cassie (Bichon-cross) and Gus (American Cocker Spaniel).

* Gus (American cocker spaniel) is also new (this is his second day!). He's super friendly and has been chasing tail with Winston (beagle-cross), Jude (puggle), Bechler (Boston Terrier), Rolo (pug), Scooby (American cocker spaniel) Spike (Yorkie) and LG (Yorkie-shih tzu). He's part of the high-energy pack in the big room that's been bombing around all morning playing chase, wrestle and tug-of-war.

* Jude (puggle) is part of the WWF pack, playing with all the bigger small dogs (read "Gus" for more). He also likes wrestling Molly, the Min Pin.

* Bechler (Boston Terrier) is - surprise, surprise - also one of the main leaders in the playful WWF pack (read "Gus" for the lowdown). He also likes playing with Molly, the Min Pin, and looooooves Snoopy.

* Scooby (Amerian cocker spaniel) is also part of the WWF pack (read "Gus" for more). He's been extremely playful today and ate all of his lunch.

* Rolo arrived just after lunch time and injected new life into the almost-energy-fading pack in the big room. They've been playing chase, going nuts, having a blast! LOL. He especially loooooves Jude (puggle).

* Spike & LG were super happy to be back at daycare today! They've got lots of energy and have been playing, playing, playing non-stop all morning. They've been part of the WWF and running pack (see "Gus" above for more).

* Tonka (miniature dachshound) is in with the "big" dogs right now. He had a blast with Sasha yesterday and his best girlfriend today is Cassie. He ate all his lunch.

* Winston (beagle-cross) is also in the WWF wrestling pack. His best buds today are Bechler, Molly and LG. He's been doing lots of running around and should be ready for a dog-nap soon! I'd say the whole wrestling pack will be droopy-eyed by around 3 p.m.

* Jones (Bichon) has formed a little play-pack with Cassie (Bichon-cross), Heidi (shnoodle), Bobo (maltipoo) and Molly (Min Pin-cross). She's as wriggly and playful as ever!

* Cassie (Bichon-cross) has been playing with pretty much everyone... She wrestled with the new chihuahua, Kujo, took on Jones, and has been playing with Molly and Bechler. She ate most of her lunch.

* Bobo (maltipoo) is is part of the Jones-Cassie pack (the three little fluffy white dogs!). He especially loves wrestling with Cassie. He ate all of his lunch.

* At this very moment, Ozzy (Min Pin) has a squeaky toy in his mouth, and Molly and the new chihuahua are chasing after him super-fast around the small room. It's so cute seeing the littl'uns play together. Kujo is right in there, too. He ate all his lunch.

* Molly (Min Pin cross) is Ms. Playful, always eager to play chase or wrestle, and not afraid to take on the big kids. She's playing chase right now (see "Ozzy" above for more) and was playing with Bechler (Boston Terrier), Jude (puggle) and Jones (Bichon) earlier in the big room. She ate a little of her lunch.

* Heidi (shnoodle) is in the big room, playing lots with Heidi and everyone in the Jones-Cassie pack (read "Jones" for more). She's also been wrestling Ozzy and Sebastian. At lunch time, she just kept trying to get into the big room to play, and didn't want to eat her lunch.

* Sebastian is a little lady's (dog's) man today, wrestling it up with Heidi and Cassie. He's in the big room, trucking around with all the big kids, having a blast. He wasn't hungry for lunch.

* Snoopy arrived at around lunch time to much doggie fanfare, as always. He's chilling out on the dog bed right now, avoiding the commotion of the other dogs.

* Henrik the chihuahua arrived later in the afternoon and has joined the little dogs in the small room. He looooves playing with Dawson and has been wrestling and chasing her all over! He also likes Mika and Molly. So cute...

* Mika and Lexy - yes, our two - are in the small room, playing with the new chihuahua, chasing after the toys.
