July 6: Happy Monday

Hope you had a great weekend! We took the dogs to Confederation Park in Burnaby for a walk and play in the dog park on Saturday. That's an awesome spot for dogs, in case you haven't been there. They have a small dog enclosure, but the bigger dog enclosure had more going on. Great for a weekend play.

Saying that, we've just heard word from another daycare in Burnaby about a small kennel cough outbreak. We haven't had any cases here (and aren't expecting to because none of their dogs come to our daycare). However, if your dog ever comes down with a cough, DO NOT bring them to daycare, or even to a public park or pet store. Please leave them at home and notify us.

Looks like a pack of happy, healthy dogs in here today. The morning walks are done, lunches are fed, and we've got some games of chase going on. Here's what's happening:

* Jones (Bischon) is staying us for boarding right now. She arrived Sunday and we took her to the park. She chased our dogs around the house on the carpet, and pooped herself out. Today she's regained some energy and has been playing with Umber (chihuahua), Danger (Maltese) and Muggles (Maltese). Danger looooves Jones. So does Tonka (miniature dachshund), who's been wrestling with her, and chasing Umber.

* Muggles has also been chasing Umber and Dawson (both chihuahuas). The three of them are all so tiny - under 4 pounds... so cute! Umber invited Molly (Min Pin-cross) into their little pack.

* Molly's small too but she's feisty - I bet she could take on a Labrador! In fact, she's been wrestling the big kids: Bechler and Frankie (both Boston Terriers) this morning. Go get 'em, girl. Also in the littl'uns pack: Ozzy (Min Pin - pictured left), who's been playing lots with his girlfriends Molly, Umber and Dawson. Pic of Bechler and Molly at the very top.

* Frankie has also been playing tug-of-war with Bechler and wrestling Molly.

* Buttons (cockapoo) has been super hyper today, chasing after the ball, wrestling Bechler and then conked out next to LG. Er, not really. She's chilled out as usual, hanging with the laidback dogs and doing some mingling.

* Brothers Jasper and Casper (Coton de Tulear) had last week off, so we were happy to see their fluffy, smiley faces today. The boys have been wrestling Dawson (chihuahua), playing ball, and chasing each other all over the ramps in the back room - making up for lost time.

* Jasper and Casper have also been playing with Spike and LG. Spike (Yorkie), wrestling Casper and LG in one rolling ball of fur, and LG wrestling with Bechler and chasing Mika (chihuahua). Lola (cockapoo) has also been chasing after the ball. Her best buddy this morning has been Lexy (chi-silky terrier) - they've been tackling each other, Lola pinning Lexy to the ground. Go, Lola!
