July 2: Blue skies, wagging tails

Hope you all had a fabulous day off yesterday! We went to Burnaby Park with four dogs for a picnic. That was fun, except Lexy got in trouble for barking at a Min Pin puppy. Arrgghh... Lexy.

It's warming up outside, but nice and cool in here. The morning walks are done and we'll be doing some more around 3 p.m. Seems like the pups have begun their summer bikini diets today though - eating very lightly. Scroll down to see if your dog ate.

* Wolfie and Lola (Papillons), who have been staying with us for boarding, have been running around with Jones (Bischon) this morning. Jones and Lola, especially, are new best friends. Danger (Maltese puppy) also loves playing with Jones. Wolfie & Lola had a super time at the park yesterday and have been having a blast chasing Mika and Lexy around our house.

* Buttons was happy to see us again this morning. Such a happy dog! She curled up with Mika (Maltese) on her blanket earlier, sharing her resting spot with her. Mika also cuddled up with Tui and Alley. She's been making lots of friends, but especially likes the gentle, more laidback doggies.

* Tui (Yorkie-cross) and Alley (Brussels) have also been doing some playing today, wrestling Jones (Bischon) and chasing Bechler (Boston Terrier). Scroll down to the bottom of this blog for a great pic of Tui and Alley!

* Tea party time? Check out LG and Maggie having a nice 'cuppa to the left.

* Bechler is actually taking a little dog-nap right now. He takes these five-minute power naps and then bursts back into life! He's been chasing Marley (Havanese), Spike (Yorkie), LG (Yorkie-shih tzu), Jones, Maggie (Cairns Terrier), Frankie (Boston Terrier) and Winston (beagle-cross) in a high-energy pack. Winston and Frankie have been doing some pouncing/chase games too. This whole pack has been running around all morning, playing tag, chasing after the ball, running all over the ramps. No surprise then that it's power-nap time...

* Little Dawson (chihuahua) sure was happy to see Ozzy (Min Pin) today (and vice versa)! They've been inseparable, frolicking arond. Ozzy has also been wrestling with Maggie, when she isn't busy chasing Winston.

* Lui Lui (Jack Russell-chi) is still a bit grumpy and standoff-ish today. She's great with us humans but perhaps it will take her a couple more days to get back into the swing of things, playing with the other dogs again.

* Mico (shih tzu) is a little angel, just hanging with the pack and giving us humans attention. She chased Dash (miniature dachshund) for a bit, which was pretty cute. Dash has also been wrestling Marley (Havanese), and his buddy Tonka (twin-like miniature dachshund) just arrived.

* Lui Lui wasn't hungry.

* Ozzy ate a little bit.

* Mika ate a little.

* Frankie ate all his lunch.

* Danger ate a little.

* Tonka just arrived, so we'll feed him lunch.
