April 30: Go Canucks Go!

Seems everyone's talking about the game tonight. Go Canucks!

We have a new member of the pack here today called Gus. He's a very friendly American Cocker Spaniel who's been having a blast chasing everyone around. Not shy at all.

Socialization is such a good idea for all dogs, but in particular you should get started on it while they're puppies so they grow up to be confident and friendly around other dogs and humans. It's so important! Take your dog to the park, let him/her play with friends' dogs, or take them to a daycare to burn off some steam and play.

As for today, all the morning walks and lunches have been done, and we'll do some more walks after I finish typing this.

So what has your dog been up to? Scroll down to find out:

* We'll start with Gus, considering it's his first day here at Small Paws. He spent the morning playing fetch, chasing afte the ball with the pack. He loves to play with Jude the puggle (especially tug of war, as you can see in the photo) and Lady (another puggle) and Molly. Actually, he likes to play with everyone! He ate all of his breakfast.

* We haven't seen Tonka for ages, and he's been making up for lost time, chasing after his buddies. He loooooves Sasha, his long-lost girlfriend, and has been chasing her. He also really likes Milky (such a lady's man/dog).

* Darn, where is our camera when we need it? Lui Lui was playing with little Mika the chihuahua today, jumping and pouncing at each other. She also chased Gus for a bit. She ate all of her lunch. We'll try to get the camera out faster next time to snap that video...

* Lady was thrilled to see her buddy Jude and they started playing straight away. She also likes the new dog, Gus, and has been playing chase and wrestle with Lexy, Mika and Sebastian.

* Ozzy was part of the ball-chasing pack this morning. He has also been playing with his girlfriend Molly and at this very moment is giving Milky a very loving facewash. Too cute! He ate all of his lunch.

* Molly has been whizzing around the place with everyone. She's got limitless energy! She loves Ozzy, Gus and will even take on the bigger small dogs like Jude in a WWF wrestle match. She ate about half of her lunch.

* Jude is also having a blast, as you can tell by all the photos. He's been playing with everyone. Just read through all the briefs above and you'll find his name in nearly every blurb. He especially loves playing with Gus, Lady and Lola.

* Buttons is doing great, giving us humans all kisses on our hands to say hi. She has been chilling out with Snoopy. She wasn't in much of a mood to walk today, plopping down in the cool grass for some relaxation! She ate all of her lunch.

* Snoopy arrived around lunch time and was mobbed by kissy friends when he came. He has since managed to shake off all his fans and is now relaxing on the dog bed. Ahhh...

* Lola was part of the ball-chasing crowd this morning, and has since been wrestling with Jude (her boyfriend) and Lexy. She's very playful and always part of the pack, chasing everyone around!

* Enid's been coming here for a while now so she knows all the regulars. Boy, was she curious when the new dog, Gus, arrived. She was right in there, sniffing and saying hello. She also chased Jude in the big room for a bit, and has been doing lots of mingling.

* When Milky arrived, she tackled Molly and they started playing straight away. She's been pouncing around with everyone, and just a couple minutes ago was getting a face wash from her new boyfriend, Ozzy. He loooooves her! Milky ate all of her lunch, too.

* Sebastian's been zooming around all morning, chasing Lady all over the ramps in the back rom, and chasing Milky. As you can see, his favourite game is playing chase! He didn't eat anything for lunch.

* Game on! Sasha was so happy to see her buddy Tonka. At first she was a little hesitant because she hasn't seen him for a while and he was so thrilled to see her furry face, he just wouldn't leave her alone. But now she's warmed up to him again and they've been wrestling and pouncing and playing chase... hurray! The happy couple reunited.

On that note, enjoy the sunshine this afternoon if you can get out. And Go Canucks!
